Deepwater offshore oil reserves have become an increasingly important source of energy for the world. Ensco strategically has committed more than $3 billion to expand its fleet of ultra-deepwater semisubmersible drilling rigs to access these reserves for customers - - and recently announced two major milestones:
New ENSCO 8500, the first in the ENSCO 8500 Series® of ultra-deepwater semisubmersible drilling rigs, has initiated operations for Anadarko and Eni in the Gulf of Mexico.
New ENSCO 8501, the second in the ENSCO 8500 Series® of ultra-deepwater semisubmersible drilling rigs, was delivered and now is mobilizing to the Gulf of Mexico.
